Kratos and Atreus are partnering up for Commander, fresh from the new Secret Lairs! We’ve applied our data science algorithms to identify the top 10 cards that will go up in price if Kratos and Atreus decks become popular.

So, what do Kratos and Atreus do?

They build your experience through God attacks or deaths, then draw you oodles of cards and distribute +1/+1s for each attack. So, here's our top 10 list of value changers:

10. Casting lots of legendary Gods? Surtr, Fiery Jotun from Assassins Creed just has the one printing and gives you lots of free removal. It’s so low on the list because it's just a bit underwhelming for 5 mana.

ree

9. Cute little Arthur, Marigold Knight, may not himself be some sort of God of mice, but he'll find you lots of other Gods. With the recent Amazon product dump of Bloomburrow precons it may not be the right time for him to price spike (there are going to be lots of Arthurs scampering around out there).

8. Beautifully synergising with number 1 and 9 on our list (and ready to find with Atreus), God Eternal Oketra is a great fit for the deck but with a recent copy in Aetherdrift commander, there’s lots of supply out there, so I’m not sure it’ll spike from Kratos and Atreus alone.

7. Alrund, God of the Cosmos, finds you all your other Gods. With only the Kaldheim printing (and a big ask of a future set's mechanics to find a reason to reprint him) he’s probably not getting any more supply any time soon. He is currently at bargain bucket prices BUT maybe that's just because he’s also not that spectacular elsewhere?

ree

6. Ilharg the Raze-Boar is perfect for this deck. This MASSIVE boar is a god AND it lets you play other Gods attacking for free (lots of extra Kratos XP). The only reason it's so far down the list is that it has a few different printings.

5. Every God needs their angelic host, right? And Kratos’s feels like it has to be Aurelia the Warleader: While you’re sneaking Gods in with Ilharg, why not also sneak in some extra attack steps with Aurelia? Sure, she’s again not a God, but you’ll get plenty of extra XP from all the Gods that attack for the second time with her! She already commands a bit of a price premium (bonus attack steps are always a bit silly).

ree

4. Not quite so angelic… but even better with Kratos for your commander table: Bloodthirster! All 4 players still at the table? That’s A LOT of extra XP for Kratos and Atreus to use. Difficult to reprint (its in the Warhammer 40k precons), which means it’s probably not going down in price until they do another colab.

3. Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might is the perfect Godly partner for pairing with Kratos and Atreus: pop all Kratos’s counters on him then ping with Atreus for the insta-win. It’s already a pretty chunky price point though so it might be difficult for it to have a huge amount of growth potential, but it feels like it is essential for this deck.

ree

2. Purphorous, Bronze Blooded seems like an auto include. He sneaks all the other Gods into play on the cheap, gives everything haste and triggers Kratos. From a finance side: theres only one printing of him and it was long enough ago now that the supply is really dwindling, but he’s still relatively cheap for the limited supply.

ree

1. Sage of Hours: the moment you get to 5 XP and resolve Kratos with Sage you get infinite turns and win! Sage only has 1 printing and that was long enough ago that supply's dwindling and it fits nicely into any +1/+1 bant decks too.

So, there we go! What the data science suggests for Kratos and Atreus. Let us know what you think. We'll do a review in a few weeks to see how they all did.
