Spider-Man Price Predictions: How Did We Do?

Our aim is to find those cards that we think will go up in value over the following months. To do that, we’ve been looking at cards we expect to feature in decks built around some popular new releases. We started a couple of months ago with Spider-Man.
Now it’s time to mark our own homework. How did we get on?
We looked at five potential commanders (see the original posts over on Bluesky). For each of them, we give a quick review of how things look now for the top four predictions. Given that Spider-Man hasn't been the most popular set, we were pleasantly surprised by the results.

A pretty encouraging set overall. Nothing exploded, but almost everything crept upward, and Curse of Clinging Webs in particular showed real demand before levelling off. Arachnogenesis’ low supply continues to make it a good spec, and Thantis quietly doing its thing feels like a reassuring “slow value” pick. For a commander that perhaps isn’t dominating tables, this was a healthy batch of predictions.
Twitching Doll – A tiny nudge upward, moving from $0.66 → $0.72.
Arachnogenesis – Extremely low supply and a healthy bump from $1.37 → $1.80, with the cheapest NM now sitting at $2.53.
Thantis, the Warweaver – Slow and steady growth: $0.85 → $0.96, and no NM copies under $1.43 today.
Curse of Clinging Webs – Spiked hard from $1.27 → $2.60 before settling slightly to $2.38. Still a very solid increase overall.
A bit of a mixed bag. Kresh and Riveteers Ascendancy barely twitched, but Skullspore Nexus carried this one a little with a solid trend that may not be done. Rakdos the Muscle is still volatile but that doesn’t always equal bad. Not our strongest set, but definitely not terrible.
Kresh the Bloodbraided – Absolutely flatlined at $0.75, with very few recent sales.
Riveteers Ascendancy – A modest but real climb from $0.25 → $0.30.
Rakdos the Muscle – Quite volatile, dropping from $0.78 → $0.63. Could still be a sneaky pick-up if demand stabilizes.
The Skullspore Nexus – The star of this batch: $4.60 → $5.77 and still trending up.
This batch was excellent (top marks us). Archfiend of Ifnir has done really well with the algorithm beating our judgement! Monument to Endurance and Keeper of Secrets continue to climb with real momentum, and Ghostly Pilferer chugged upward in a very confidence-building way. When your worst performer has still gone up almost 70%, you know it was a strong round. Big green goblin grins all around.
Archfiend of Ifnir – Our algorithm loved it; we weren’t convinced. Turns out the algorithm was very right: $1.19 → $3.86, a 224% jump.
Ghostly Pilferer – One we all agreed on, and it rewarded us with a gentle but steady rise from $0.55 → $0.92.
Keeper of Secrets – Solid performance, climbing $8.86 → $10.56.
Monument to Endurance – Enduring indeed: a clean, uninterrupted upward line from $6.11 → $8.60.
Okay, this one wasn’t great. But there is a silver lining: prices holding steady hopefully means these cards remain stable, desirable staples. And Angel’s Grace pulling ahead gives us at least one solid validation point. Not every batch is going to soar, but this one didn’t crater either. Have I spun that one enough to call it a win? Probably not.
Phyrexian Unlife – Wild price swings but ultimately right back where it started.
Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff – Also basically unchanged.
Astarion, the Decadent – Everyone’s favourite decadent vampire budged only $0.03.
Angel’s Grace – The lone bright spot here, up from $6.95 → $7.33.
A fun mix here. Spitemare staying flat is fine, Stuffy Doll doing a dependable upward shuffle is solid, and Pariah’s tiny dip doesn’t change its long-term synergy case. Pariah’s Shield absolutely stole the show. A 318% jump is pretty good for a commander we struggled to evaluate, and it highlights exactly why these prediction exercises are worth doing!
Spitemare – No movement at all.
Stuffy Doll – A healthy, gradual rise from $5.25 → $6.16.
Pariah – A small slide from $1.60 → $1.51.
Pariah’s Shield – The huge surprise: $1.52 → $6.36, a 318% rocket. Not bad for a pick that both we and the algorithm found tough to evaluate!
Summary
All in all, many more wins than losses, so we’ll definitely take that as an overall win. If you want to get in ahead of these trends, make sure to check out our new posts!
